Our babies are landing....

Our babies are landing - worldwide..needless to say our babies are our LadyUmbrella ladies t-shirts and regular readers and those we affectionately term "LUFANS" will be aware of the fact that we just recently launched our online t-shirt shop. We're also over the moon at the fact that our t-shirts have been whizzing around the globe and I'm now on first name basis with those in the local post office :)

So, where have our t-shirts touched down and what are people saying about them? We have received some lovely comments on our facebook fanpage and I'll just mention them here now to freeze them in the annals of time that a blog provides..

1) Jessica - America

Ciao Rob!!!! grazie mille the t-shirt its fantastic!!i love it!!!

Really we are delighted at the response our t-shirts have gotten and have some BIG BIG news lined up for all you readers out there - stay tuned.

As a company, small and humble, we are elated at how our ladies t-shirts have been received and the response and feedback and the kind words people have been saying.

On a personal level, I'm just flabbergasted and delighted. It has been a real tough journey to get here and I'm aware that the journey is just really starting but I am eager to rise to any challenge that may come in the future. This LadyUmbrella venture has ignited a flame within me and I am 100% committed and passionate about shipping out awesome t-shirts to awesome people. Those of you who have bought a t-shirt already I thank you. It is hard to quantify the pleasure of seeing my inbox light up like a Christmas tree when an order is received as I then know that we can send a bit of happiness somewhere in the world - and that is what it is about for me. Clearly, I want to make a successful business out of LadyUmbrella but that thought is secondary to sending happiness. I want people to be surprised and happy from the moment they place an order with us - those who have ordered already have something to look forward to and know what I'm talking about (and no, it't not just receiving the t-shirt hehe but that will also be special).

Anyway, before this becomes a long rambling and meandering post I'll curb the typing antics now. As I said, some big big news coming soon so check back here pretty soon or why not subscribe? And, I'm taking bets - what will the next new country we ship to be, place your bets

Wales - 3/1
Scotland - 3/1
France - 4/1
Canada - 4/1
Sweden - 5/1
Australia - 6/1
New Zealand - 6/1
Portugal - 6/1
Mexico - 6/1

Clearly there are more countries in the world so let me know where you think the next one is going..whoever gets it right will get some goodies...hit me with those comments and stay happy...

The Flying V Formation

Our ladies t-shirts assumed the flying V formation to turn a "Dear Diary" moment into, well, a Kodak moment..

Yesterday we received an order for the full El Primera Colleccion and got them packed and shipped out today..it really was a great feeling to see that order come through, 6 of our tees are en route to lovely California, to mix it with San Diego solubrous society (I'm sure hehe) and rub shoulders with the Guvenator of the Bear state..I wish I could join them on their travels alas not today..

Another nifty thing that happened today is that we passed 2,600 fans on the LadyUmbrella Facebook Page which is nice..awesome even..

And so from the flying V to five days left in our special intro price for our tees in our t-shirt shop. Until Wednesday the 27th our tees have been set at 24.99euro as a thank you to all our facebook friends, twitter followers and you whoever may read this..on top of that here is the promo code - lufblove - use it to get 10% all of your order..and there is free shipping worldwide.. spiel over :)

Anyway, I'm off to play pin the country on the map, as our t-shirts make their way to various parts of the globe I find myself becoming more interested in the big old world of ours and what will be the next country to land on my map...any ideas where it might be? Leave me a comment below..any feedback on our shop?...ole..

I Survived T-Day Twenty One Twenty Ten

Hello all, T-Day, Twenty One Twenty Ten, the day of the LadyUmbrella launch, has come and gone and I am happy to say I am a survivor. It is kinda of a strange feeling to be honest, I had spent so much time working on our ladies t-shirts and promoting our launch that now that we are open for business I almost feel a bizarre emptiness inside...what happens now?

Now, I guess we continue to do what we were doing, keep working hard and continue to get the word out there. Our shop has been open for 26 hours now and its been a long 26 hours. I can see a future of frantic "F fiving" as I refresh various sites and charts to try keep track of what is happening..Packing orders is now a welcome addition to the daily routine and we've already had the pleasure of packing and shipping tshirts to Spain, UK, Germany, the States and of course, Ireland.

Want to take a minute to thank some of the bloggers who wrote about our launch, In My Short Sleeve was the first to get in there and mentioned us just before game time..then, Pop Culture Tees did a great interview with us that is awesome..We then got a real nifty review from Loving This Tee which we are very happy with - people like our tees hehe :) We hope that we'll get a few more blog mentions in the coming days..

Anyway, short and sweet, I have tees to pack and ship and try to find a way of filling the promo void..hopefully you'll take a minute to peruse our t-shirt shop and obviously we've no objections to you making a purchase or two..stay happy all..

P.S. as a little bonus to you guys who read this here is the promo code for our shop, lufblove, that will get you 10% off all of your order, sush now ;)

LadyUmbrella T-shirts: Tested on The Stage

Hello all, it turns out I have an inner scientist that I was not aware of and have conducted another demanding test on our LadyUmbrella ladies t-shirts. You might have seen us when we Tested them in the Sunshine but this time we wanted to see how our t-shirts would hold up on stage...a fortunate sequence of events made this possible..

You may recall we ran a competition a while back and one of the winners is an Irish based musician who goes by the name of EleventyFour. Well, she recently got in touch with us letting us know which tees she wanted and we promptly delivered. She also let us know that she was playing a gig on Friday 15th January in Crawdaddy in Dublin and we figured why not go and conduct a test. Check the video below.

The gig itself was really great. I (Rob) really like music and have played in bands and been a band manager so have a little bit of music knowledge and I thoroughly enjoyed the gig. The fact that EleventyFour was wearing our t-shirt made it all the sweeter (and she even plugged us twice - pretty cool and we are most thinkful). Her music is quirky, chirpy, funny, interesting, lyrically rich and engaging. In the video in the background we have an EleventyFour song called "The Friend Song" playing which is a very nice song, asking the question, what kind of friend are you? You can listen to it here and I beg the question, what kind of friend are you? Leave a comment and let me know...

And, without further ado, the video, recorded and edited superbly by Elena and starring yours truly and EleventyFour..enjoy and leave a comment to let me know what other tests you'd like me to put our LadyUmbrella ladies t-shirts through - I'm all for the experiments now..On a final note, watch this space, watch our facebook fanpage and keep your eyes on our site, we are going to launch in the next week - nice!

Ok so, stay happy, leave a comment and let me know what you think of the video, what type of friend you are, any other t-shirt tests you'd like to see or just let us know that you're looking forward to us launching, hehe, we'd like to hear that too..ole..

P.S. We are going to splash out and get a new super dooper camera, the limitations of our one were found out in the dark setting of Crawdaddy - any suggestions?

Tested in the Sunshine - the Unseen Bits

Just a short blog here to give all you LUFANs a glimpse at some of the unseen photos/things from "Tested in the Sunshine" - a photoshoot we did in El Cotillo, Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands for LadyUmbrella ladies t-shirts. We have got more pictures for your perusal on our facebook fanpage but what you can't see there is this short video of when things don't run smoothly - enjoy.

I like to talk about the rigging and set up often used to record or do things here at LadyUmbrella. And, this is no exception. As there were only two of us there to record to Tested in the Sunshine and we were both in it we had to fashion some sort of rig. This consisted of putting a chair on a table to try get the height right for the video. It was close but it wasn't perfect so we then used the case for the BBQ utensils (yep we did some grilling, fun times) to get the height spot on. We did a few takes and noticed that the wind was making the sound quality awful so try counteract it we set up a haven for the camera - 2 rocks, a firelighters box and a towel draped over the lot. All in all it worked out all right got my thumbs up.

And so, there it is ..another blog in the can and another rig exposed. What do think of the Tested in the Sunshine video anyway? or impressed by the rig? let me know, love to hear from whoever reads this...stay happy..
