Size Wise!

I don't want to say we are slow learners as that might be a bit harsh but I do think it's fair to say that our initial offering of ladies t-shirts was, well, limited when it came to sizes. We only had small, medium and large and the error of our ways is now apparent. We sold out very quickly of our larges but then our smalls (size 8) were the slow movers. Now, though, from what we've seen and your feedback, we've learned a bit and have gotten size wise.

We want everyone to be able to purchase and wear our t-shirts and are happy to announce that we finally have more sizes available. We now have five sizes, S, M, L, XL & XXL in 3 t-shirts from our first collection (Away with the Birds, Wise Owl and Sir David) and all of our 2nd collection will have the same increased size range.

To celebrate the extra sizes we kicked off a SALE yesterday and have slashed 5 euro off our prices (and coupon codes still apply) which will last until midnight on Sunday. Really, head on over to our online shop and snag yourself a t-shirt whilst the going is good...

And the Winner Is...

What Just Happened?
The last 24 hours or so have been pretty much magical..Really, that might sound like an overly strong word to describe facebook & twitter antics but for us seeing the magic unfold in front of eyes as people suggested our page to their friends was overwhelming..When we started the Race to 6,000 yesterday I really thought it would run for a few days..In the end facebook won and it took just 5 hours to cross 6k finish line..Twitter followed suit today but heck, everyone is a winner here :)

The Winners
And so, onto the winners..Between both facebook and twitter we received over 500 entries which is really staggering..The super computer could barely handle such large digits but when it finally came to terms with them it produced the following two winners...The lucky fan who helped us out on facebook and was randomly selected is Alison Doyle..And representing twitter the first name selected was @Sheamusx..Congrats to both of you..Please get in touch with us on facebook/twitter so we can get your tote bags sent to you...

But Wait, There's More!
You're help and support has to be recognised..You went above and beyond what we ever could have imagined and to thank you all we've set up a coupon code which will get you 20% off your order. The code is valid for the next 24 hours so get in there whilst the going is good...When ordering your tote/tee use code take20 at checkout for the savings from our online shop - we really want you to take advantage of this code, you're earned it :)

And so, that ends the fun and games for a while..We have lots of big things coming real soon (cough cough new designs!!) and can't state how important it is for you to join our mailing list so you don't miss their launch or future competitions...Thanks again to all for taking part and helping us out and avail of the coupon code from our shop now whilst the going is good...ole

Race to 6,000 - Facebook vs Twitter! [Give Away]

Sometimes things just work out nicely don't they? We've been wanting to have some fun with our friends and followers for a while and then low and behold an opportunity like this presents itself for us to give away some tote bags..Magic..So, what is the opportunity?

Well, at the time of writing we have 5,874 facebook likers and 5,861 followers on twitter which I think you'll agree are pretty close to each other..And so, the stage is set for a race to 6,000 to see which account will make it their first...Which one do you predict will win?

We could just wait it out and eventually (or at least we hope) we'd make it to the sought after 6,000 mark but we want you to help us out..If you're rooting for twitter we have set up the #oletrain (inspired by Jared Thompson of Design Juices, the originator of the oletrain) to help you tell your tweeps about us...If facebook is your preference then it is really easy to "Suggest our page" to your friends - the more the merrier...

We are on the brink of launching our 2nd collection of ladies t-shirts but really want to have 6,000 friends before doing so..Why? Well, it is a silly target we set for ourselves and we are so close to hitting it that we might as well try hard..We really need your help for this to happen AND we've got some prizes up for grabs...When we get to 6,000 on facebook one of the peeps who helped us get there will be awarded a bag at random...And, in a similar fashion, when we get to 6,000 on twitter one of the peeps who helped us will win a bag...

To be in with a shot of winning on facebook just suggest our page to our friends & leave a comment to let us know you did...To enter into the tweepstakes just tweet "Want to WIN a tote? Join the #oletrain & follow @LadyUmbrellaltd, they need 6000 tweeps! http://bit.ly/lusite" - simples :)

So, who do you think will win - facebook or twitter? leave a comment & let us know and of course would love for you to share this post and help us get to 6k - ole :)

Affiliates & Amigos - The LadyU Crew!

We like to try new things here at LadyUmbrella and came up with an idea to try help us spread the word of our ladies t-shirts called the LadyU Crew..It is far from the greatest idea in the world but we hope it might benefit all involved a bit..

So, what is it? Well, we have a private group on facebook called the LadyU Crew for people who want to be part of our team..To join it you just have to send a request..Those who join the group will be given a unique coupon code which they can give to friends/family/whoever might want one of our tees..The coupon will get the purchaser 15% off their order but will also get you, the person who gave them the coupon code, 10% of the net sale price of the t-shirt, about 2.50euro per t-shirt. Not a bad referrral rate really is it?

On top of that those who join the LadyU Crew will be entitled to 25% off all purchases with promo code...ah ah, no, you have to join to find out ;) Also, those who are members of the LadyU Crew will find out about LadyUmbrella news before it is news...basically we see the LadyU Crew as an extension of our team and will pick your brains from time to time..We already have 95 members which is totally mind boggling and are looking forward to hitting 100 members sometime soon...Might have to crack out a special video for the crew to commorate the milestone..

Are you interested in joining? Feel free to ask any questions you may have and I'll answer them or let me know if you've sent a request to join so I can fast track your application :)

Noteworthy Notebooks?

I'll let you in on a secret, we've been sitting on some notebook designs for a while now...We've been wanting to show them before but with the launch of our tote bag happening just a few weeks back we got side tracked and didn't have a chance to unveil them..We rectified that today though and unleashed them to get your much sought after opinion...

So, here is the deal..Elena has come up with six pretty sweet notebook designs (I'm biased as all hell but I think they are rather narly) but we can only bring one of them to life for now..So, we need to know which one is your favourite..We have kicked off a poll of sorts on our facebook page and have got a lot of great feedback..Really hope you can chime in with your thoughts either on facebook or here and let us know which design is your favourite...

And now, let the eye candy begin...

Pink to make the boys wink? This design is derived from the street art we did in Pygmalion [VID]

This design is based on our most successful ladies t-shirt to date "LadyUmbrella is Away with the Birds"...hehe, hope you knew the name of the design already ;)

This is another design which takes elements of one of our t-shirt designs, "What Came First the Chicken or LadyUmbrella?" to be exact..In a recent interview Elena said this was her favourite design..

This notebook features the initial incarnation of our soon to be released t-shirt, Mona LadyUmbrella..There was an in house tug of war as to whether or not the green would be used in the t-shirt, needless to say the designer won, not me hehe..

Most of our designs are bright and colourful but this one goes against that..taking some graphics from our tote bag design Elena went and created a night scene..I like this one a lot..What about you?

The last of the 6 options this design is brand spanking new but of course has a healty dollop of birds..In all polls and votes there has to be an early leader on on our fanpage it's this one...is it yours?

And there you have it, our six designs and a little bit about them..the question is which one is your favourite? Please leave a comment here or truck on over to our facebook page and let us know what you think..Don't be shy now - thanks :)

Friday the 13th...Lucky for Some!

We're not usually the most superstitious but random and wonderful occurrences always seem to happen to us as a result of our ladies t-shirts..Things like "The Canadian Coincidence" and "Vikings and Vietnam" have happened in the past to both delight and intrigue us..And, sure enough, today, Friday the 13th was to throw up another rare delight..

We got our first overseas visitor into our shop in The Loft Market today which made Friday the 13th lucky for us..One of our good twitter friends, Hannah, happened to be in Dublin for a few days and decided to pop in..Not only that but she came with a gift..In the past our sweet teeth have been delighted with cupcakes but today we received the insanely cool drawing you see above..We are blown away when stuff like this happens, and well, nothing like this had happened before so we can only say WOW and thank you!!!

So, Friday the 13th was lucky for us - how was it for you? Cross any black cats or have any great encounters? Leave us a comment and let us know..and the drawing, pretty epic huh?

Only In Dreams...

Regular readers of our blog may now be aware that in it we like to try catalog events that unfold within our little ladies t-shirt business...if you're not a regular reader that is what you can expect and I can only hope you find the mumblings interesting..like this dream like tale I'm about to tell..Prior to that though I suggest you scroll down and press play on the tune embedded below, "Only in Dreams" by Weezer - a lovely litte ditty..

Anyway, on with the story..The other day we received a pretty interesting comment on our facebook page from, well, one of our likers. Rather than paraphrasing I'll just copy her comment in its glorious entireity..

"I had a dream the other night that I was out shopping and found 2 different tee's from Lady umbrella in the shop. The designs in my dream aren't even ones that you sell so I'm not sure how I came up with that one haha"

That to us was a pretty amazing comment to get and as we usually do on our fanpage we responded..We asked if she could remember what the designs looked like...and, how about this for an answer..

"One was a grey tee with lady sitting on a bench on a cliff with her back to the sea, she was holding an umbrella behind her like a sun umbrella, the only colour was the turquoise of the sea and a silver logo on the bottom of the tee...........The other one was lady in a really trendy wedding dress (dress was knee length) her 'umbrella hair' was her veil and she was standing at the bottom of a path leading up to a church"

And so, now, we have some new design ideas but the thing that is really flooring for us is that LadyUmbrella is, somehow, in peoples dreams - that to us is pretty darn cool... Personally I can never remember any of my dreams so I'm impressed with the detail that was remembered in the above...And it also makes us wonder - anyone else have dreams which include some LadyUmbrella t-shirts? And who amongst us is a fellow Weezer fan? Ole...
